Cellphone noise cancelled by really listening

We had never really been all that bothered by cellphone reception. Sure we had the dropped calls from time to time but to be completely honest our cellphones sound much better than some landlines we've used. But then we were talking to someone who was walking down a rather windy street and couldn't understand a single word that came out of their mouth. Anyway, researchers at the University of Toronto have developed a dual microphone system that supposedly focuses on the speaker's voice and cuts extraneous sounds by
"focusing" on the speaker's voice "just like the two human ears". That is if it works, of course. They're saying it'll be miniaturized enough in a couple of years to start showing up in cellphones that don't have giant circuit boards attached to them.
