Famous last words: "People don't want open access".

Uttering what we can only hope will prove to be some famous last words, Gareth Jones, the chief operating officer of 3, a high-speed 3G wireless carrier in Europe, declared the other day that the company won't be giving their subcribers unfettered access to the entire Internet on their cellphones because, "People don't want open access, that's not what our customers tell us they want. Anyone in their right mind who tries to do anything on the Internet with a screen that size has to be nuts." How about asking AOL how well that approach works?
