Miniprojectors on the rise
Miniprojectors are seeing increased development as recent competing technologies are stirring some competition to be first to market. Some are based on light-emitting diodes while other are laser-based. The problem with virtually all of them, however, is power consumption (Gee, how many times have we heard that?). Anyway, the new technologies will allow devices like cellphones,
digital cameras, and portable video players to cast images on surfaces in seriously portable situations. Other applications may include expanded control panels cast on surfaces for PDA-like devices. However, until the market is ready, costs are down, and some better battery technologies emerge, we'll have to wait over here in "wouldn't it be nice" world.
