Sony releases new 20Gb MP3 Walkman

Sony finally jumps on the MP3 bandwagon with the NW-HD3 hard disk digital music player. Good thing – Atrac3plus just doesn't have quite the same ring to it,

The units will be available in Japan and Britain before Christmas and are set to launch in Europe in early 2005. They will reportedly come to the U.S. market at some unspecified date. Whether anyone in the U.S. market will buy one is another issue. Especially at the current $463USD price tag – wouldn't you just save a few bucks and get a 40G iPod instead? Or go through your penny jar and buy a 40G iPod photo? Besides, we intelligent Mac users can forgeddaboutit anyway because the dang thing doesn't support the Mac platform! Doh! File this one in the 'expensive doorstop'
