Dell disses Lenovo/IBM deal
The hateration on the IBM/Lenovo deal has already begun. Technically he said this a few hours before the deal officially closed, but yesterday Michael Dell (from you know where) predicted that Lenovo's acquisition of IBM's PC
business would not be successful, mainly because it's almost impossible to smush together two big companies with different corporate structures and cultures and hope that things work out. Not that we expected him to say anything nice, but he does sort of have a point, it's not like that HP and Compaq merger has turned out to be a raging success
(though it hasn't exactly been an abject failure, either).
P.S. – Nice running shorts there, Mike.
