Canada's smaller, more power-efficient cellphone processor
Somehow we doubt we'll actually see this turn up in a handset anytime soon, but some researchers at the University of Alberta in Canada say that they've created a new analog chip for cellphones that is ten times smaller than the digital ones used now and that is supposedly so much more power efficient that it'll lead to phones that only need to be charged once a year (we won't even bother being snarkily dismissive of that claim).
