Mobile spam bigger problem than regular spam in South Korea
Never thought we'd be nostalgic for the days when spam was confined to email inboxes, but the Korean Information Security Agency is reporting that during the first ten months of this year complaints about mobile spam (like unsolicted commercial text messages) outpaced complaints about regular email spam by margin of 3 to 1. Could be that people have just resigned themselves to regular spam and have stopped complaining about it as much (or installed better filters, etc), but no matter how bad the problem really is (and it definitely is a problem, back in May it was reported that 10% of all text messages received in South Korea were spam), we're all going to have to get used to at least a little mobile spam in our lives.
