Apple not interested in satellite iPod?

Back in December we reported on Apple's talk with Sirius satellite radio regarding the possibility of satellite radio coming to an iPod near you. Well, it looks like the upshot may be that Apple won't bite.

Mel Karmazin, the new CEO of Sirius, wouldn't elaborate any further than saying Apple's takeaway message at present time is that "they don't need to put a satellite radio in their box." Although with a statement like that, there's not terribly much need for elaboration, is there?

Anyone else bummed?
