Sony Ericsson: Take that, Motorola!

Not to be left out of the year of the MP3 phone game,
Sony Ericsson announced at the 3GSM World Congress in Cannes on Monday that it will also be releasing a mobile with integrated digital music player early next month. Interestingly, the phone will be branded with a name we're familiar with:
Walkman.

Sony Ericsson's head of product planning, Rikko Sakaguchi, indicates that the, uh, WalkPhone will play both MP3 and AAC formats, unlike certain other "iTunes-compatible"
phones that won't play tracks from the iTMS (cough).
