2005 PowerBook trackpad quality issues?

There is some
buzz going around about a
trackpad issue exhibited by the new 2005 PowerBook line. Apparently, the trackpads have a penchant for going to sleep when left untouched for a few minutes. Static electricity is being discussed as a factor in the malfunction, because Apple resellers are reporting receiving small shocks from contact with the PowerBooks.

Are the new PowerBooks a bit too sensitive to static electricity? Has anyone else had a shocking experience with their new laptop?
