It's a Bluetooth party in the pasture
Just when we thought we'd seen everything that could possibly be Bluetooth-enabled, we come to learn that we had foolishly disregarded the vast, untapped potential of bovine wireless.
Luckily, Blip Systems has seen the light, and has developed a Bluetooth-mesh system that places sensors on cows, so that farmers can monitor the health and location of each member of the herd. Developed in cooperation with the Danish Cattle Research Centre, the system will be sold to farmers for less than 100 euros, making operations profitable for herds larger than 100. We sure hope those cows are easy to configure.
