Government group tries to determine CD and DVD expiration dates

The National Institute of Standards and Technology's Government Information Preservation Working Group, otherwise and rather humorously known as GIPWoG, is attempting to develop a standard way of labeling CDs and DVDs for longevity.
So what are they doing? They're simply asking everyone how long they want their media to last. Their choices are 20,
25, 30, 35, 40, or 40+ years, you have to give a reason if you pick the last one, but who doesn't want their CD-Rs to last as long as possible, what do they expect people to say? Anyway, you have until May 31 to get your two cents in.
