iPod shuffle battery pack reviewed

Apple has rolled out the last of its five planned accessories for the
iPod shuffle, and iPodlounge has taken a look at the $29 Battery Pack. They find that it works as advertised and beyond: promising to add 20 hours of extra play time, the pack exceeded its promise by several hours, for a total of about 40 hours of total playtime with a fully-charged shuffle and fresh batteries. The only thing they really took issue with was that the attached lanyard is not removeable. On the other hand, they question the necessity of having the Battery Pack in the first place, considering they routinely see playback times from 16 to 18 hours from the unit alone. But perhaps for those extra long hikes through the Outback, you might be interested in turning your digital audio player into the Quasimodo shuffle.
