Cellphones are dangerous /not dangerous, chapter 8036
Giving us perhaps our shortest interval ever between conflicting studies, researchers from the Danish Cancer Society interviewed 427 people with brain tumors and 822 healthy volunteers and concluded that there was no correlation between cellphone usage and cancer risk. You may recall last week's study by scientists at the University of Newcastle that found that exposure to cellphone radiation caused damage to the sperm DNA of lab mice. Not that the studies are exactly contradictory or anything—it's entirely possible that cellphones don't cause brain tumors but do damage sperm cells—but the one thing that the two studies definitely have in common is that both sets of researchers have made it clear that nothing is conclusive yet and that they still need to confirm their results with additional long-term studies.
