iTunes Music Store to finally hit Australia on Thursday?

So it didn't happen back in January, but it may happen this week — at least according to the harbinger of all things iTunes: Russell Crowe. The actor/erstwhile rocker blabbed the launch date of the long-awaited iTMS Australia to the press, which could be open for business as early as this Thursday. However, the word is that tracks will come in at $1.80 Aussie (about $1.40 USD), which has already been the subject of complaint from Australian Mac users. At that price, people may as well just buy the CD. Since it's pretty much the recording industry that's responsible for setting up these ridiculous pricing schemes across the board, we have them to thank for continually failing to understand the digital age. Good show, mates.

[Thanks, Alan]
