Xbox 360 not so backward compatible
With all the talk of Xbox 360 being backward compatible comes word that it's not quite so backward compatible after all.
Xbox titles will have to be recompiled to work on the new hardware, with Halo apparently being very high on the priority list. This could leave people in the position of having to buy their software titles again, just to take advantage of this "feature".
UPDATE: Microsoft has responded with the following: "The story is incorrect and is misleading a lot of readers.
We're not sure where this came from, and is false. At launch, Xbox 360 will be backward compatible with the top Xbox games. Our goal is to have every Xbox game work on Xbox 360. You will NOT need to purchase a new 'version' — your original games will work on Xbox 360."
