Samsung MMC plus and MMC mobile memory cards, 'cause you need more choice

We already told you about the rugged and oh-so-tiny
MMC micro last year and now Samsung has started mass production of two new MMC devices — the MMC plus and MMC mobile — each compatible with the existing MMC spec. On the size-o-meter, the MMC plus format is the largest (pictured), MMC mobile is half that, and MMC micro is just a third of the mobile. The 3.3-volt MMC Plus, and the 1.8 or 3.3-volt MMC mobile cards, can both transmit data at 52MB per second or three-times faster than SDs. Each is available in your choice of 64, 128, 256 or 512MB densities. Samsung believes the new formats are needed due to "limited choices that exist today." Uh, whatcha smokin' boys cause
