Apple drops single processor Power Mac line

Apple quietly removed the 1.8 GHz Power Mac G5 from its online store, leaving nary a single processor Power Mac left in its lineup. During the last Power Mac revision in April, Apple beefed up the line with dual processor G5's ranging from 2.0 to 2.7 GHz and left the 1.8 GHz G5 as the lone remaining single processor straggler. Since it's pretty unlikely they'll reintroduce a new line of PowerPC-based single processor Power Macs, you can at least console yourselves that your no longer spry old Macs will soon be collectors items.
