Roomba hackers, start your engines

We noted the existence of the
Roomba's serial port — and thus, true inner desire to submit to every hacker's will — a while ago and now it appears that the prayers of domestic robot tweakers everywhere are about to be answered. Sometime early this month, iRobot is reportedly planning to post instructions on its web site as to how to interface with the aforementioned serial port to allow programmers to mod to their heart's content. Add a camera, add an arm, add whatever you sick puppies can come up with. If anyone comes up with the hack that will finally relieve us of laundry duty, we'll shower you with accolades and anoint you l33t hax0r of 2005.
