Alienware's Area-51m 7700 laptop goes Windows Media Center
You can argue all you want (and you probably will) over the merits of adding DVR functionality to laptops, but Alienware says they're making Windows XP Media Center Edition an option on their Area-51m 7700 laptop. Being able to record summer reruns on your lappy will set you back a bit; the Area 51-m 7700 wasn't exactly cheap to begin with, and this new version with Windows XP Media Center Edition loaded on it starts at $2,375 (that's with a 17-inch widescreen display, 512MB of RAM, 3.4GHz Pentium 4 desktop processor, 256MB NVIDIA GeForce™ Go 6800 video card, 60GB hard drive,
DVD/CD-RW combo drive, and a mini PCI TV tuner).
