Roborior house-sitting robot on sale in Japan
Sanyo and tmsuk's curiously shaped Roborior
robot hit Japanese department stores this week. Aptly described as a "watermelon-sized eyeball on wheels," Roborior keeps guard over su casa with its on-board digital camera, infrared sensors and videophone, and can notify homeowners of potential situations requiring attention via cellphone. It also, of course, glows purple, blue and orange. Your robotic eyeball overlord carries a stiff pricetag at $2,600, but for that winning combination of security and companionship, it's way cheaper than a significant other.
