Matsushita, Pioneer, Hitachi develop low-power plasma

Sure, higher
electric bills aren't the first thing you probably think of when you're about to hand over $4K for a 50-inch plasma. But lowering them a little couldn't hurt,
right? (Especially since HDTVs supposedly drain more power than regular old analog sets) Matsushita, Hitachi and Pioneer have jointly developed a new plasma display that they claim runs on half the power of current models, which is a massive cut in power. The companies expect to commercialize the tech within three years—now if only they could do something about gas prices.
