TVisto multimedia hard drive enclosure

I4U has a review of MacPower & Tytech Technology's TVisto Multimedia Hard-Drive Enclosure, and find that it works as advertised (which isn't saying much). The TVisto is a BYOHD (bring your own hard drive) home theater component that accepts 3.5-inch drives and allows for playback of digital content (ripped DVDs, HD programming, etc.) on a television. They have no qualms with the actual performance of the machine, but they take issue (and rightfully so)
with the fact that the TVisto lacks a wireless connection, so you have to haul the box over to your computer everytime you want to add content. All in all, you're probably better off with a solution like the
SnaZio line of
network media adapters, or even just a Windows Media Center PC
hooked directly to the old boob tube.
