Pioneer E-DIR800C wireless headphones reviewed

Wireless surround sound headphones may
seem like the best
way
to enjoy your home theater without making enemies of the whole neighborhood, but as CNet points out, many
of them are less than satisfactory, with "sound cutting in and out, high background noise levels, and subpar sound
quality." However, the site checked out the Pioneer E-DIR800C phones — which are equipped with the Dolby Headphone
system, designed specifically to enhance the headphone listening experience — and found them to be a cut above the
rest. The reviewer liked the way DH could be adjusted to simulate different sized venues, including a small room
and a theater, and the fact that it could be disabled altogether for those who like their music raw. Of course,
with a street price of close to $300, you may want to opt for a comparable corded set for half the price — just be
careful not to trip over that wire when you get up to take a biobreak.
