Sony Ericsson P990 design reviewed
Although you won't be able to get your hands on one until Q1 2006, mobile-review gives us a sneak preview of the upcoming Sony Ericsson P990 Symbian smartphone, with a ton of pics and roughly translated review of the design and configuration. Some aspects of the P990 seem to have been improved over previous models, like the roomier and better-placed keyboard, while other elements take a step backwards,
like the transition from 5-way JogDial to 3-way JogDial with back button (ah, fond memories of the
Clie). Also getting the thumbs-down are the rather industrial design (mobile-review criticizes the lack of an overall theme) and the omission of a standard headphone jack despite audio playback capabilities. On the plus side, the screen has been improved (smaller, but brighter and with better resolution) and the 2 megapixel cam includes a handy lens cover. Stay tuned for part two of the in-depth review,
when features and functionality will be evaluated.
