HDTV in a notebook from Asus
Coming to a notebook near you: HDTV. It's not the first (and definitely not the last) notebook PC that's high-def capable, but we just can't help ourselves. The new model W1V from Asus will come equipped with either an analog or a digital tuner built in.
Keeping up with the "light, thin and feature-packed" crowd, the W1V has a hairline alloy cover, a sub-woofer for some needed bass, and an integrated 5-in-1 card reader. Asus claims a battery life up to 3 hours, which is almost enough to watch all of the prime-time hours in HD. If you must compute with the notebook, it should meet your needs as the W1V is built off of the Intel Sonoma platform and a mimimum of 512 MB RAM. Seriously, are you going to stop watching HD on this just write a few Word docs? Nah, we didn't think so!
No specs on the screen or hard-drive size just yet; we're also crossing our fingers for U.S. availability since this seems geared towards Asia at the moment.
