Sprint launching EV-DO + music downloads on Monday?
Between the growing host of phones
and their 3G soft launch we knew it was coming any day now, but it looks like Sprint's finally on the eve of rolling out Power Vision—what they're calling service that includes, among other things, their nation-wide
EV-DO network. Forbes has it that they're also going to be rolling out what looks to be the first proper over-the-air music retail system on Monday, supposedly with a fixed price of $2.50 for a "dual-download" (i.e. a track that will be available on your home computer as well as downloaded to your handset). Apparently 300,000 songs at launch will be content comprised from of EMI, Warner, Vivendi Universal, and oddly enough, Sony BMG by way of Bertelsmann (what,
Connect not doing so hot, Sony?) acts. Guess we'll have to wait and see bright n' early next week AM!
