Nikon Coolpix P1 WiFi cam previewed
Lets Go Digital has a preview of the Nikon Coolpix P1
and they seem to dig the cam, though mainly for its wireless capabilities. They do mention that it might take people a while to warm up to using a WiFi camera, and we would love to use the WiFi for more than just syncing directly with our computer using Nikon's software, but apparently the P1 also packs some pretty nice functionality including a live slideshow feature, and, of course, direct printing (so it's not all bad). They found you can get a 2.8MB 8 megapixel photo to transmit over 802.11g with the cam in around 10 seconds, which surely beats the time you'd be spending looking around for that USB cable — but otherwise you're looking at a pretty standard, easy to use compact 8 megapixel shooter.
