Next Metal Gear PSP title to be a digital comic

Liam over on PSP-Vault has filled us in on his prediction about the upcoming Metal Gear title for the PSP that we announced yesterday. It turns out that Kojima lists the game as "Metal Gear Solid BD" on his personal blog, and in an interview with Famitsu magazine, he revealed a partnership with Frank Miller that will produce a "digital comic" version of Metal Gear Solid for the PSP. In addition, Sony has registered "PSPMagazines," "PSPBooks," and "PSPComics" as trademarks in Japan, and this past weekend, the PSP Contents Viewer was announced at the G-Star convention in Korea (see "Read"
link).

Liam believes that the new Metal Gear Solid title will make use of the PSP Contents Viewer, and indeed,
will be a digital comic, not a game. The PSP Contents Viewer will likely be introduced in a future firmware upgrade.
Sorta a letdown, no?
