Garmin StreetPilot i3 reviewed
The Garmin StreetPilot i3 doesn't have a whole lot of bells and whistles. No touchscreen. No integrated MP3 player. No hard drive to hold your collection of detailed maps of the Outer Hebrides. What it does have, however, is a price that just a few months ago would have been unheard of for a GPS unit in its class: as little as $300 from some online stores. For that price, you get all of the basic features you'd expect, including voice prompts, bundled maps of the US and Canada and a 1.7x1.3-inch color display. NewsFactor took the i3 for a spin, and found it to be "a good choice for first-time GPS buyers looking to get accurate directions while on the go," though they did ding it for the lack of a touchscreen and text-to-speech features. Hey, what do you want for $300?
