Dish shows new DVR, HD channels, functionality
Dish Network has been busy cooking up some of that special sauce HD programming, and now that they've swallowed Voom they're offering some of the best HD content on the market. Thomas Hawk has the lowdown on their offerings and functionality,
including their new ViP 622 DVR they were showing at CES that holds a 250GB hard drive for storing 25 hours of HD
programming. Their HD offerings are now broadcasting in MPEG4, and they're copying DirecTV's six channel in one view,
which ain't a bad thing at all. Thomas didn't quite dig the DVR for its "clunky" feel and single HD and SD
tuners, but it's hard to deny Dish's new content offerings.
