Maxell stepping up Blu-ray recordable media speed

Maxell is stepping up their Blu-ray recordable speed to the 2x level throughout their lineup to keep up with the newly announced Blu-ray recorders. This speed boost is going to hit their record once BD-R single layer disc and BD-R DL (dual layer) disc along with their rewritable Blu-ray media at both the 25GB single layer and 50GB dual layer disc. The new blank media should hit retailers in the first quarter of this year with soon to be announced pricing.
