Most anticipated/loved/hated video game movie of all time?
We're just curious for this one. There's been a lot of hullabaloo (nice word choice, huh?) about the upcoming Halo movie, but come on. There's a reason this blogger thinks that movie will be a failure (a cinematic failure, perhaps not a box-office flop... definitely an acting failure) — Master Chief is behind a reflective mask. How will we know when he's angry? How can he look around without acting like a bird? There will be no acting happening in the film, regardless of CG or not. The action? Maybe it'll be a mind-numbing movie, but really, we need to stop making game to movie adaptations of the action we can get when we play the actual game.
With that in mind, there are a few game to movie adaptations that aren't entirely terrible. The original Mortal Kombat movie — not the second. As far as game-movies go, it's still one of the best. Now's the time for you to give us your thoughts: what's your favorite? What's the worst one, ever? What should there be a movie of (Shadow of the Colossus would be artsy-fartsy at the least)? What should there never, ever, ever be a movie of? Voice your opinion! My least favorite? Either the Mario Brothers movie or Doom.
