US Music

US: Wale, Nike Boots
Each week, we find a track from an artist or a band we've been enjoying and bring it to you, for free, as our Single of the Week. Footwear is prime real estate in the hip-hop world, as Washington D.C.'s Wale reminds us in the mid-tempo grind of "Nike Boots." Heavy on the minimal, treble-heavy percussion and chopped-and-screwed chorus, this track is a booming club chant. But despite the title, Wale's love is more about his home in D.C. than it is about his trainers – as he says, "this ain't a shoe song, it's a crew song."

US: Notch, Ella Se Fue
Each week, we find a track from an artist or a band who's on the cusp of success and bring it to you, for free, as our Canción de la Semana. Notch has been dipping his fingers into hip-hop and reggaeton records for a while now, making appearances on records from artists as diverse as Daddy Yankee and Thievery Corporation. "Ella Se Fué" is a cut from his first solo record, Raised By the People.

US: Bomshel, The Power of One
Our Discovery Download puts the focus on a different genre each week, offering up a free track we think is worth your attention. This fiddle-loving country duo have been a big impression in the past year with their first singles "Ain't My Day to Care" and the groove-oriented "Bomshel Stomp." The group, comprising Buffy Lawson and Kristy O. have created some fun-loving, high-energy tracks to kickstart the party. "Power of One" turns it down a notch, and shows the girls can get serious when need be.

Canada: Ridley Bent, Nine Inch Nails
Each week, we find a track from an artist or a band we've been enjoying and bring it to you, for free, as our Single of the Week. This number from Ridley Bent is a country swing cut that could have rolled out of Bakersfield years ago, if not for the lyrics. Within this expertly played cut, Ridley Bent tells the story of a girl he met in a record shop, they get together, they break up, their records get mixed up by mistake. Now, "she's got my Tom T. Hall, I've got her Hüsker Dü", "she's got my 'Nine Pound Hammer' and I've got her Nine Inch Nails." Clever, fun, and a great tune worth enjoying for both hardcore country fans and for alt and rock fans who will dig the constant namechecking.

US: Jamie Woon, Robots
Each week, we find a track from an artist or a band we've been enjoying and bring it to you, for free, as our Single of the Week. This week, we're taking a closer look at the South London-based troubadour by the name of Jamie Woon. Take a listen to his acoustic, hypnotic soul music – represented by the stark, driving "Robots" and we think you'll enjoy.

Before they can blink, a friend is dead – and the bank, the Secret Service, and a female private investigator are suddenly closing in. Trapped in a breakneck race to stay alive, Charlie and Oliver are about to discover a secret that will test their trust and forever change their lives.
