If you believe that the first WiiWare and DSiWare games of the new year will set the tone for the rest of 2011, then ... man, this is going to be a weird year. DSiWare gets artsy with a three-pack of games designed by Jason Rohrer, including Passage, Gravitation, and Between.

WiiWare

  • Sneezies (Chillingo, 1 player, 500 Wii Points): Use sneezing powder to make trapped creatures sneeze their way out of bubbles. Set up chain reactions to free more Sneezies.
  • Ghost Mania (Legendo Entertainment, 1-2 players, Wii Points): A color-matching falling block puzzle in which the falling blocks are apparently ghosts. Crazy!
  • Demo: Robox (DreamBox Games, 1 player, 0 Wii Points): Explore a mysterious planet as a stranded robot. Rather, explore a small area of that planet, because it's a demo.

DSiWare

  • Alt-Play: Jason Rohrer Anthology (Sabarasa, 1-2 players, 200 DSi Points): Three games by Jason Rohrer are collected in this single download: Passage, Gravitation, and Between. Prepare for sadness.
  • Word Searcher 2 (Digital Leisure, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Find words in their natural habitat: hidden among other letters.
  • Music On: Drums (Abylight, 1 player, 500 DSi Points): Sequence 160 different percussion sounds to make beats.
