Ask Massively: The better to stalk you

Long-time reader and podcast-listener Avaera recently posed a question to the Massively staffers clearly designed to send our egos into the clouds:

Is other any chance for Massively itself to somehow integrate the wonderfully reflective and personal blog entries that you and the other writers maintain separately from their paid work? Even a round-up style column of some of the best MMO blog posts of the past week, or on a particular theme, would be fascinating.

My first thought was that most of us put most of our work on Massively because if we can get paid to write, we'd be fools not to do so! I didn't think there'd be enough writing material to even justify a roundup, and that's probably true; I update my own ranty blog only every other month, for example. But who's to say blogs are the only interesting thing we do? So I polled all of Massively's staffers about where they write their writings, video their videoings, and tweet their twitterings. If you have a serious urge to stalk us, you're in the right post!

Anatoli is Massively's level-headed Guild Wars 2 columnist, so you know he has thick skin hardened by months of vitriolic comment sieges.

Beau is a contributing editor who blogged about free-to-play and indie games before you'd even heard of them. He also covers mobile MMOs and livestreams oddball games for the site.

Blake is a multimedia contributor who livestreams MOBAs, especially SMITE, for Massively. "Twitter sensors are detecting a high concentration of sports-related opinion and content," he warns!

Brendan is Massively's resident EVE Online expert, one of our most veteran columnists, and a budding 4X game designer.

That's me! My job at Massively is making things happen, swearing at email, and adjudicating grammar, which is how I know "that's me" defies the rules of predicate nominatives.

David hails from Australia and knows how to leverage his accent to win at livestreaming. Ladies. He also has the distinction of being our only colleague whom we can call "Piggy" without being sued.

Dylan is a multimedia contributor who primarily livestreams for Massively. He swears his feeds are "PG13 and nerdy/gamer-esque."

Eliot is a senior contributing editor specializing in WildStar, Final Fantasy XIV and XI, roleplaying, superhero MMOs, betas, and absurdity. Mostly absurdity.

Jasmine IRL is pretty much like Jasmine everywhere else: slightly insane and busy maxing her WoW rep on her infamous Massively livestreams.

Jef spends his non-gaming hours rebuilding old cars and older airplanes. Someday he may even blog about them, but in the meantime, he'll be covering Star Citizen and EverQuest Next.

Justin is a columnist and news reporter at Massively; he majored in hobbits, music, conspiracies, archaeology, and humor.

Karen writes Massively's guild and family MMO columns, having previously served her sentence as a hardcore raid leader in RIFT and EverQuest II.

Larry is a columnist and livestreamer at Massively; his current specializations are Star Wars: The Old Republic and The Elder Scrolls Online. No pressure or anything.

Matt is a news and re-reviews writer for Massively, or would be if we did reviews; he heads up our Second Wind series.

Mike began as a livestreamer for Massively and quickly charmed his way into writing news and some of our most popular opinion columns.

MJ is on a quest to prove she'll sleep when she's dead; for now, she's too busy streaming and writing about the EverQuest franchise, sandboxes, Aion, kickstarters, and The Secret World.

Patrick would be schooling you in League of Legends if he weren't preoccupied making his fortune kidnapping people in Age of Wushu.

Richie is a multimedia contributor for Massively, meaning that he's primarily a livestreamer, but he's also a Guild Wars 2 expert who's graced our pages with many GW2 videos and guides.

Shawn is the senior editor at Massively and one of the three poor souls responsible for scraping troll corpses from the comment section. It keeps him from thinking about Tabula Rasa, though.

We're pretty sure our Star Trek Online columnist, Teri, knows more about Star Trek than Roddenberry Entertainment itself, but she is modest: "I fold paper bags in my spare time and am considering going into nuclear physics and quantum bio-mechanics."

What should you play? Where is the MMO industry headed? How does Massively operate? Has Lord British lost his marbles? Why is the edit button on a timer? Should "monoclegate" be hyphenated? Editor-in-Chief Bree Royce submits to your interrogations right here in Ask Massively every other Thursday. Drop your questions in the comments below or ping us at ask@massively.com. Just ask!
